Portrait Bookings

  • You’ve found me, hooray! Now you want to know more or get the ball rolling on a shoot. Reach out to me via the contact form below and I will get back to you within 48 hours. And in the meantime you can always check out my FAQ at the bottom of this page!

  • Next, we hop on a Zoom call for a 15-minute no-pressure chat, giving you a chance to ask questions and tell me all your photoshoot dreams. At this point we might also chat about potential locations or tentatively discuss a date if you’re ready.

  • You’ve decided the vibes are right and you’re ready to book! We decide on a date and I send you the contract and deposit invoice, which is 25% down. Then you’re officially in my books! Over the next couple weeks we’ll finish up any planning we need to do, and then touch base again right before the big day in case there are any last-minute changes needed.

  • This is the best part! We meet up and have an amazing time taking photos. I will offer light direction when needed, but my goal is to capture you as YOU, so I try to be hands-off while also creating a space that feels safe and easeful. We will just have fun with it, and if you’re like most of my clients, you will leave feeling an after-shoot glow.

  • It’s delivery day! My photo turnaround is 4-6 weeks due to the nature of film, but the wait is so worth it. You will receive a private online gallery of your images, custom curated and lightly retouched by me. From there you can download freely, share them far and wide, and even order prints straight from your gallery if you so choose.

FAQ

  • Final photos are delivered within 4-6 weeks. Shorter timelines can be accommodated, please just let me know before booking if you will need the pictures faster than that, and I will let you know if I can accommodate a shorter turnaround.

  • I suggest a reschedule! Unless you have a tight deadline for your photos, it is always better to reschedule for a day with better weather. Good weather=good vibes. I check the weather forecast daily and will reach out to you a couple days before your shoot if I think we need to reschedule.

  • Typically, I share photos from each session to my website and newsletter, in order to promote my work and expand my portfolio. However, if that makes you uncomfortable please let me know when you are booking your shoot.

  • Yes! I love it when clients bring supportive loved ones to a session! Feel free to invite whoever you would like to your session, just give me a heads up first so I know what to expect.

  • A thousand times yes! Post your photos anywhere you want! I just ask to be credited whenever possible.

  • No, I ask that you don't edit or add filters to the photos I take; I invest a lot of attention and time into editing your photos and it's an important part of my artistic integrity. Cropping is totally fine though. Please reach out if you have any further questions about this!

  • A big part of my photography is that I want to capture people just as they are. So I only minimally retouch my photos, removing temporary "blemishes" such as pimples and subtly whitening teeth if it seems called for. I don't offer any airbrushing or other types of extensive photoshopping, but if there is something small that you would like me to pay attention to while editing, please let me know.

  • Wow, where do I start?! I love shooting film because the images themselves emanate life and character. Film is more vibrant, more textured and more imperfect—all things I deeply value in both my artwork and the way I move through this world. At the end of the day, I just think it looks better! And the experience of shooting on film forces me to slow down and move with more intention.

  • All the images you see on my website are shot on film. But I do very occassionally shoot digital if the situation calls for it—for example, if turnaround time needs to be under a week, or if I am taking headshots for a big group of people. I will communicate to you ahead of time if I have decided I need to shoot digital instead of film. And if for some reason you prefer digital over film, please let me know.
