Sunny and 35 Degrees

Hello all,

Happy New Moon to you. I hope the spring is treating you all well so far. Here in Seattle we are enjoying waves of warm and sunny, then cool and wet, and just generally unpredictable weather. It feels very correct for springtime and it reassures me that some things are still right with the earth, at least some of the time.

I’ve been having a hard time lately sitting down to write a newsletter, even though I really value this space. The state of the world just feels really dire, and I don’t have anything new or insightful to say about it. But I believe that art is vitally important even in dark times, so I choose to continue creating and sharing. Thank you for spending some of your precious time and attention taking in my words and images.

Also—at the bottom of this missive are some show announcements as well as some resources that have been helping me stay engaged and hopeful lately. I hope they are a balm to you as well. ♡

It has been a while since I shared a boudoir session here, so I am extra excited to share this one with you all today! This shoot happened very spontaneously with my friend Natalie at the end of winter, and it was the perfect jump-start to my year. I first photographed Natalie in Florida in 2017 when I was just beginning to focus more on shooting nudes/boudoir, and it is always a transformational experience getting to make art with her. These are especially impressive to me because it was actually 35° F outside during this shoot and Natalie (a lifelong Floridian) makes it looks like it was a warm summer day. Incredible.

That’s all for now. Thank you for being here!

Until next time,
Holly
