Bridget & Lucas’ Backyard Wedding
Hello readers!
If it’s your first time here, welcome! I really appreciate you joining me.
It has been a busy summer and I have a lot of work to catch up on sharing with you. But I figured I would start this blog post with a little introduction/re-introduction for anyone who is interested.
I’m Holly Stevens (they/them), a photographer of 16+ years, a parent to a small kiddo, and a very excitable person. I take photos with the intention of fostering deeper connections to ourselves, each other, and the Earth. I am fascinated by the ways that photography can be a source of healing, liberation and self-expression. It’s freaking amazing!
I am based in Seattle, WA, on unceded Duwamish and Coast Salish land, where I tend a garden and a small flock of chickens in the city.
The current iteration of my business took shape in 2020 when I came out of a 2-year hiatus from professional photography and started A Queer Photog. Since then, my focus has been creating intimate, joyful & raw photography for all bodies. And if you have talked to me at all in the last year or so, I have probably emphatically told to you that I now shoot on 100% film, something I have been working towards for a long time and am deeply proud of.
Ultimately, the purpose of what I do is to evoke a sense that every life is already a work of art—exactly as it is. I’m glad you’re here, and I’m excited to share my work with you in this algorithm-free format!

And now, PICTURES! Today I am doing something I’ve never done before in my newsletter—sharing wedding work!
As some of you know, what enabled me to move to Seattle from Florida in my early twenties was wedding photography, and I took on every single wedding gig that I possibly could in order to make ends meet at that time. Long story short, I got very burned out and swore off weddings for many years, thinking I may never return.
But lo and behold, after starting A Queer Photog, something began to shift as I started to connect with so many amazing clients whose lives and love stories resonated deeply with me. As of 2024 I started offering wedding photography again, and it has been an absolutely wonderful experience. It turns out that I just had not found my people before, and now that I have, shooting weddings is a pure delight.
So without further ado, here are some of my favorite images from the wedding of B+L, who had a backyard ceremony surrounded by chickens and geese and an incredibly loving family. I hope you enjoy!
AHHH! The joy! I just loved this day so much and I’m glad I got to relive it through these photos.
Thank you for being here! I will be back in your inboxes again soon.
Until next time,
Holly
